Laparoscopy

It is a Keyhole surgery has been around for almost thirty years. We have been replacing most of open surgery for majority procedures in gynaecological surgeries. Advantage of Laparoscopy over open surgery is many for which we can safely say it is a revolution in modern methods of gynaecological surgery. We acknowledge the fact that fast recovery and swift discharge from hospital following surgery and speed recovery that is one of major advantages.
We can also say that most of Laparoscopic surgeries are much safer than open surgery provided it is carried out by capable and well trained Gynaecological surgeon. Operative surgery in women who represent a major risk factors in open surgery such as big women (overweight) can have laparoscopic surgery with much better outcome including those patients with cancer internal genital organs requires  radical hysterectomy and pelvic clearance.

Laparoscopy is used for the following cases:

  1. Infertility Investigations
  2. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  3. Ovarian Cyst
  4. Endometriosis
  5. Pelvic Adhesions
  6. Ectopic Pregnancy
  7. Fibroid
  8. Ventrosuspension
  9. Ovarian Drilling for PCOS
  10. Tubal Patency Test for, Fallopian Tube Check
  11. Tubal Reconstructive surgery
    1. Phymosis
    2. Cuff Salpingostomy
    3. Removal of peritubal adhesions

As we can see from above majority of Laparoscopies in Gynaecology are carried out as a day case and post operative recovery and return back to normal routine work within a week from the day of the procedure.

And many more cases which would be added on in future. Such as
